Seven Days War is now available . The song is part of the EP 'Devil's Amusement' and features a music video produced by 18 Filmes through Roman Roads Artists Enabler, from Porto Alegre.
The band consists of musicians Guilherme Cunha (guitar), Igor Casenote (guitar/vocals), Jorge Santana (vocals), Josué Monteiro (bass) , and Juliano Santana (drums) .
The concept of the lyrics "a million eyes" refers to what we are currently experiencing, surrounded by many cameras, many screens, and all the mediatization that occurs – for example, in all habits and professions (social fields).
According to the band, George Orwell (author of the book '1984') predicted this very accurately, based on a critique of the phenomenon of surveillance and the invasion of privacy that we experience today. However, what we observe today is permissiveness, not discontent with these "millions of eyes," with many people in harmony and dependent on this way of life in pursuit of exhibitionism. Therefore, the music video for "A Million Eyes" criticizes this unhealthy exhibitionism, in the band's opinion.
The character in the video is a fighter who demonstrates a great deal of effort to succeed in his fight, which is something real where he physically prepares to win in the ring. However, the athlete is more concerned with the repercussions on social media, feeling more satisfied with the media effect than with his actual performance in the fight.
Seven Days War was born from the personal desire of its members to make the music they wanted to listen to: heavy, melodic, underpinned by a dense layer of groove and meaningful lyrics. Originating in 2013 in the city of Canoas (RS), the group is preparing for a series of releases in the coming months, which also includes a documentary about their recent compositions.
